2nd round: Groups 1 & 2 classes

We are getting to the end of this semester, but here we are once again with another round of classes馃檶. It was Maru's and my group's turn馃榿. I think we were less nervous than the first time and we could say that because we already knew how to teach a class and we tried to do our best that day馃挭.


Our class was focused on vocabulary and we taught daily routines and frequency adverbs. Alexia started with the warm-up doing charades馃幁 where students needed to do the daily activity that they got in a paper to start practicing for the topic. After that No茅 began teaching the subject by having students learn and repeat the vocabulary of routines and frequency adverbs. Then, Giselle did some activities with a worksheet馃摑 and another one where the students had to paste the routines in the frequency adverbs that they thought best on the board. Continuing with the class, it was my turn to do the other activity; students had to write down their daily routine from waking up⏰ to going to sleep馃挙 using the frequency adverbs and then we reviewed some of them. To finish the class Alexia did Russian Roulette as a wrap-up where she gave some numbers to the students and the number馃敘 appearing in the roulette the student had to answer the question❔❓.


Students had a break and the second class started馃懇‍馃彨. This class was focused on grammar where they taught the Simple Present (Affirmative, Negative, and Interrogative). They did a recap of the daily activities and explained the simple present structure deeply. They did pretty fun activities like Tic Tac Toe❌⭕️, Who Wants to be Millionaire?馃 of course, using the simple present. To finish the class they gave a worksheet馃摑 to the students in which they had to answer questions.



I think Maru's team and my team did a pretty good job馃憣. Students played and enjoyed the classes馃榾. The students were also very participative as they saw that both groups of teachers had prizes馃崿 for those who participated. And I hope every student learned something new that 馃榿.

PPP - Presentation, Practice & Production

Ladies and Gentlemen welcome back to my blog! 馃檶馃憖 This week’s topic was PPP – lesson planning framework. We learned that an English class is composed by three important parts that are Presentation, Practice and Production馃槉. Thanks to this we can understand how a class can be structured to help all students achieve the objectives set by the teacher from the start馃憣. This approach consists of the following stages: Presentation: In here, basically is where the teacher take place, give an introduction and explain the new topic that students will be learning. Practice:  Is where students practice what they have learn in the class from their teacher. Here the teacher must do at least two activities: The free practice is where students can experiment through the language and making mistakes is ok.
